Their chemistry feels believable and natural, and more importantly doesn’t take away from their individual personalities. The attention to detail for all the characters was sublime, but Claire and Lana feel extra special. ![]() Enter Lana, a vivacious and spontaneous, plus size actress, who will challenge Claire in more ways than one. She has no choice but to hire a fake fiancée. After Claire’s fiancée breaks up with her minutes before their engagement party, her dream of publishing her romance self-help book is put in jeopardy. ![]() It follows Claire, an overachieving psychologist, with OCD tendencies, and Lana, an out of work actress, who’s mantra in life is carpe diem. “Just for Show” is a delightful, opposites attract, fake romance to true love story. Her descriptive imagery was fantastic, the comedic timing was on point, her characters were complex yet relatable, and the overall story was an enjoyable, fast-paced experience. However, Jae’s storytelling drop kicked those nerves right out of me. The “fake romance to true love” troupe isn’t my favourite, and I’m always a little apprehensive when starting a book from a new author. ![]() Endearing characters, laugh out loud moments, and some steamy scenes that are bound to fog up your glasses. It has everything you could ask for from a romantic comedy. An utterly hilarious & heartwarming story! ![]()
